Used Buck Booster Transformers: Indoor tanning beds and
stand up tanning booths are a peculiar appliance in that they truly need 230 volts applied for optimum
lamp output. To help regulate your salon's
"actual" 220 voltage, which can
range from 208 volts to 248 volts, you can install a device nicknamed
"buck-booster", which
may buck your
voltage DOWN from 248 volts, or boost your voltage UP from 208 volts,
etc. These step-up or step-down voltage converters are critical to the
proper operation of your sunbed and many manufacturers, ETS Tans and Sun
Ergoline, void your warranty if these are not installed prior to operating a
tanning bed. We offer for sale, new buck-boosters from $150-$350, and used
buck boosters from $90

Important Notes When Buying Used Buck Boosters: Keep in mind these used transformers were removed from tanning salons and do not look like the "new" items pictured above. The used item we ship may be from any manufacturer and may have wires, plugs, or receptacles attached. Please remove any unwanted wires and understand these industrial coils have a life-time of at least 20 years. Buy with confidence and we will refund any defective or non-working items once they are returned to our facility but all items are factory checked prior to shipping via UPS ground. Used Ballasts: (coming soon) Every tanning bed built and shipped
in the US employs some sort of "ballast"
system to power to lamps. These ballasts can be "electronic", "choke",
or "magnetic" type depending on who made
the equipment and when. Most sunbeds utilize a "choke" ballast system with "starters" igniting one lamp per ballast/starter although most home tanning beds use 1 ballast to drive two bulbs.
